Cemeteries We Serve in East Sussex
We work at all major burial grounds across East Sussex, including:
Brighton Extra Mural Cemetery, Brighton
One of Brighton's most historically significant cemeteries with decades of memorials, many dating to Victorian times. Beautiful setting but exposed to coastal conditions requiring regular professional maintenance.
Woodvale Cemetery, Brighton
Brighton's modern cemetery set in beautifully landscaped grounds with wooded areas, stream, and memorial gardens. The combination of shade and coastal moisture accelerates biological growth on memorials.
Hove Cemetery, Hove
Hove's principal cemetery containing thousands of memorials spanning over a century, from Victorian stones to modern memorials. Coastal proximity means significant maintenance requirements.
Hastings Cemetery, Hastings
Opened in 1856, Hastings Cemetery covers 87 acres with stunning views over the Sussex Weald and Rye Bay. The exposed hilltop location means heavy weather exposure and significant maintenance needs.
Eastbourne Cemetery, Eastbourne
Eastbourne's principal cemetery and crematorium. Directly exposed to coastal elements with significant salt spray damage on exposed memorials.
Ocklynge Cemetery, Eastbourne
Historic cemetery in Eastbourne's Old Town, now closed to new burials but serving existing graves and family plots. Contains significant numbers of established memorials requiring professional care.
Plus churchyards and burial grounds throughout East Sussex including Lewes Cemetery, Bexhill Cemetery, Crowborough Cemetery, Seaford Cemetery, Uckfield Cemetery, and countless parish churchyards. We work at any burial ground in East Sussex.

Why East Sussex Memorials Need Professional Care
East Sussex's coastal and rural environment creates intense maintenance demands:
-
Salt spray damage: Coastal cemeteries suffer accelerated corrosion, white salt deposits, and deep pitting
-
High moisture: Persistent coastal dampness and rain encourage aggressive biological growth
-
Exposed locations: Many burial grounds sit on open hillsides or coastal headlands with extreme weather
-
Heritage stones: Historic Victorian memorials require specialist knowledge to preserve safely
-
Freeze-thaw damage: Winter conditions combined with salt contamination accelerate micro-fracturing
Without professional care, coastal memorials deteriorate dramatically. Regular maintenance prevents expensive restoration and preserves memorials for future generations.
